DONATE to Joy

Ministries

New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital

The primary purpose of this program is to provide children and their families receiving care at MSCH with a temporary distraction from illness and treatment through the art of storytelling, music, and choreography. Each story performed at MSCH is crafted and written specifically for the child patients and presented by their favorite colorful characters. These interactive experiences bring hope and joy, even in their most challenging moments. Through the MSCH Wintergarden Programming, characters also engage the children through craft time and character meet and greets. Patients are hospitalized for a number of health concerns including cancer, pulmonary disease, heart disease, and sick cell anemia. This is a family-centered facility, so characters may also interact with parents, siblings, and other family members as they engage in activities with the patients.

OOB Pier Festival

One of our most beloved and exciting ministry opportunities! Characters can join our cast in OOB, Maine for the annual Pier Festival in the summer for 1 week. The overall mission of this ministry is for audience members to encounter Jesus and have a positive experience with The Salvation Army. This ministry interacts with hundreds of children through character meet and greets as part of the children’s programming. Characters bring joy and happiness to the children in this community through song, choreographed dance, and encouragement from their favorite characters!
