The Creative Arts Service Team is a summer mission team whose focus is to use theater to tell others of God’s love
What’s CAST?

CAST is a summer missions team with a focus on the arts! Partnering with HandsOn, CAST will travel to a mystery location (to be announced in the New Year) with a movement-based, 20min performance piece expressing the Good News. This is an opportunity of a lifetime that includes world travel, meeting new people, and diving into other cultures while exploring artistry as it relates to faith. For ages 18 and up, CAST (Creative Arts Service Team) will bond as a team, deepen their relationship with God, assist with outreach, and perform in exciting new locations. AND… you get paid to do it!

And as a bonus, all CAST members get a free ride (i.e. no delegate fee) to TAMC.

Stay tuned for 2024 CAST list!

Is CAST for you?

If any of this interests you, go ahead and apply now! It’s easier to withdraw later than miss the opportunity. Pray about it; ask the Lord what he hopes for you this summer. CAST has been a life changing summer for so many young people, and it could be for you too.

We can’t wait to get to know you better and take you on the adventure of a lifetime!

FAQ

HOW DOES IT WORK?

CAST is an evangelistic, arts-focused, service-minded mission team. The Arts Ministries Bureau annually assembles a production team and selects a play, musical, or original piece to produce. That’s where YOU come in!

WHAT’S THE SCHEDULE LIKE?

Accepted members begin their adventure in June with rehearsals and orientation in New York. The mission team then begins a 6(ish) week-long summer performance and teaching tour, ending in July/August. Performances and teaching will take place at Salvation Army summer camps for kids, community centers, corps, churches, and street festivals around the Eastern Territory.

WHERE DOES EVERYONE EAT AND SLEEP? AND WHO PAYS FOR ALL OF THAT?

CAST will lodge, travel and eat together in community throughout their tour. Everything they need for the summer they will carry with them: sets, costumes, props, and sound equipment. All expenses, such as food and lodging, are covered. Personal items such as soap, shampoo, etc. and occasional meals however are not. An additional stipend is generally gifted to each member in two installments.

SWEET! WHERE DO I SIGN UP?

Not so fast! Teaching and performing around the Eastern Territory is hard work. Each member gives up many personal freedoms for the privilege of combining their love for God and the creative arts. It involves living and traveling, eating and breathing, together for 2 months. It also involves clear communication and forgiveness. It’s blood, sweat and tears sometimes (hopefully not too much blood). But it’s SO rewarding.
