What is YogaFaith?

Christ-centered yoga. YogaFaith incorporates the physical benefits of a yoga practice with scripture meditation while moving towards finding moments of stillness allowing people space to experience the presence of God.

How much does it cost?

This retreat is free! If you would like to make a donation, please consider giving to your local Salvation Army.

Who is this for?

Ages 16 & up. If you feel like you need some time to unplug, connect with the Lord, and find some stable ground, this retreat is designed for you.

What’s the schedule?

  • Friday 7-8:15pm (est) – Restorative YogaFaith Practice – 1hr
Restorative YogaFaith is focused on slowing down the physical body with gentle stretching and breathing exercises. It involves very little physical movement. Because the physical practice is calming, it allows for the participants to focus their minds on scripture being presented as well as simply sitting in the presence of the Lord. So plan to dim the lights, wear your coziest clothes, and be ready to relax.
  • Saturday 10-10:30am (est) – Listening Prayer/Intention Setting – 30mins
Using listening prayer, journaling, coloring, whatever each participant prefers these 30 minutes will be spent praying through some of what has been learned in 2020 as well as asking the Lord what may be in store for 2021. Intention setting is similar to new year’s resolutions, but focuses more on internal goals, using scripture as a guide. Examples of intentions may be: be still, hope in the Lord, be strong and courageous. The hope is that in these 30 minutes the Lord will provide each participant with a meaningful scripture verse and intention that they can carry with them through the year.
  • Saturday 11-12pm (est) – YogaFaith Flow – 1 hr
Geared for all levels, this YogaFaith class will focus on praying through the scripture and intention from the previous session while breathing and moving the body through different postures. All YogaFaith classes conclude with a time of stillness where there is space provided for the participants to simply be in the presence of the Lord.

What if I don’t do YogaFaith?

All 3 sessions will be taught for all levels of practitioners. That means if you have never tried YogaFaith before, you will be able to succeed in all of the sessions. If you practice YogaFaith regularly, there will be options offered to increase your practice.

What if I can’t make all of the sessions?

That’s fine! Join in live on zoom when you are able. If you have to miss one of the sessions, they will all be recorded and sent to everyone who has registered after the conclusion of the retreat. The sessions will not be shared publicly, so if you would like access to them to do at a later time, make sure to register!
